Subterranean CHICAGO: The World In My Eyes

The Second City, The City of Big Shoulders, The Windy City, all through the eyes of a new resident. I decided in 1995 that I wanted to move to Chicago. I finally did it in March, 2004. This is not a vanity project...not really...not exactly... Just because I share my thoughts and opinions does not mean I expect anyone to actually WANT to read them. Sometimes I'll talk about stuff that is not directly related to Chicago. But I live here so it still matters. So there.

I shall NEVER ESCAPE THIS SONG!

I am not a fan of Christmas songs. Because I am so over them. As soon as I hear one, I cringe because I know IT WON'T STOP FOR MONTHS!

One of my least favorite Christmas songs is "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer."

Guess what? I have my beloved Chicago to blame...SIGH!

Once upon a time...Montgomery Ward was a department store chain headquartered in CHI.

A copywriter named Robert May (who I cannot confirm or deny is one of THE Mays of May Department Stores...owners of Famous-Barr, Lord & Taylor, Marshall Field's, Filene's, and loads of uthuh places I can't afford) penned it in 1939.

He went down in history.
